Back to the roots for further growth

In summer 2020 Star Piping Systems GmbH will move to a larger site located in the Schornacker industrial park.

In summer 1995 Klaus Lange and Udo Piontek established at Schornacker STAR Kunststoffverarbeitungs GmbH, which was rebranded to STAR Piping Systems GmbH in 2016. An initial relocation took place in 2010, at that time the company facilities moved to their current location at Schepersweg in Wesel. There the manufacturer of pipes and fittings made of polypropylene (PE) and polyethylene (PE) became a provider of plastic piping systems on a global scale. Not least because of the generation change in management in 2016, when the company founders passed on the administration to Andreas Bramert and Florian Lange, the firm underwent significant changes. Both entrepreneurs have been aware of the need to respond to phenomena such as digitalisation, globalisation and the climate change. In the words of the two Managing Directors: “Compared to the early years the production is more industrialised. The pipeline dimensions also increased substantially. Nowadays we make fittings up to an outer diameter of 2000 mm. Especially abroad the demand of safe pipeline systems for the transpotation of gas, industrial and potable water has greatly increased.

This summer, almost exactly at the 25th company’s anniversary, the premises will be moved back to the Schornacker. “We reached our limits with the existing size of halls and most of all with the limited external area“ explains Managing Director Florian Lange. Looking for a suitable location, the two Managing Directors Andreas Bramert and Florian Lange as well as the Authorised Officer Felix Lange came across REWE’s logistics centre in the immediate vicinity to the original birthplace of the company. Last year then Star Piping Systems GmbH purchased the grounds and in some part reconstructions have already taken place. “In terms of transport accessibility, Schornacker is considerably favourable.“ states Felix Lange. „The new site offers ideal conditions with lots of layout options and optimisation potential“.

Andreas Bramert emphasises that combined with the expansion also new jobs shall be created and that young people shall continue to have the opportunity of a practice-oriented career start with concrete future prospects.
